Useable space vs comfort

What does the area behind the seats in a MX5 Miata NC PRHT look like?
In my research the 3rd brake light on PRHT models don’t leak in to the boot – they are in the folding roof area which contains many drain channels. There was a forum thread somewhere that was questioning what drains the 2006-2015 PRHT model had so I have taken photos of the area incase someone stumbles upon this so it can help.

To utilise this space as storage (while not officially recommended), three 40x30x20 cabin bags will be a decent fit. Just remember to block off the roof latch with something obvious so you don’t accidentally lower it while the bags are there. A bright coloured (red) tag like they use on aircraft might be a good choice.
Equipment
When searching for equipment, look for keywords like Hiking, lightweight, and Car Camping. I have gone with the following as a mixture of easy to deploy/pack for one person, and relatively comfortable.
- Dometic Reunion FTG 4 REDUX Inflatable Camping Tent, 4-Person
https://www.caravanrvcamping.com.au/product/dometic-reunion-ftg-4-redux-inflatable-camping-tent-4-person - Dometic GO CMP-C1 Camp Chair
https://www.bcf.com.au/p/dometic-go-cmp-c1-camp-chair-130kg - 3x Self inflating, naturehike (amazon, aliexpress), 5cm, only one that folds in half. I get two layers, and one for the dog. All auto inflation.
- Folding small tables and stools to both sit things on so they’re safe off the ground/tent floor, and to cook on.
- Two small boxes that fit in the well of the boot for a Small battery lamp, radio, tent pegs, hose, hammer, all that sort of thing.
- 3x cabin bags for behind the seats where the roof folds into.

Boot / Trunk
Tent, Chair, One bag, two boxes, table, pump, pegs, cords, hose.

I’m now attempting to attach a nice looking luggage rack, to move at least the tent out and hopefully the chair also as that will give me much more room for cooking utensils and such, and make the whole packing/unpacking experience vastly easier.
